According to a Japanese blog, Lexus will offer a special "Nurburgring Edition" of its LF-A supercar. The track-oriented sportscar will get revised bodywork, a fixed rear spoiler and a slight bump in horsepower. It will be offered in four colors only, one of them being this lovely shade of orange.

Wow, I have to agree that the LFA works with orange.

How many would they even make? Would it still be leased?

Is this really just a public/marketing tool?

Wow an ugly, expensive car made more ugly and more expensive...Thank you Toyota

I'd be pissed if I ordered one of these and they announce a new version. For that price they should include anything you want. It's supposed to be custom spec'd to the owner...I'd opt for the one that includes a lot of oral from a hot chick....or buy an Ferrari and a nice S-Class instead.

Don't worry jgcl2005, you don't have to buy one. Oh, and get a nice pair of headphones and turn up the volume and listen to that V10. Gorgeous.

Why can't Toyota produce a less expensive clone of the LF-A and market it as the next-gen Supra, which has been craved for so many years by millions of fans? I would expect a twin-turbo V6 with approximately 400 horses (it would instantly guarantee a huge after market), a simpler aero and less expensive interior, lightweight, dual-clutch, priced around 80k so it can compete with low-end Porsche, Nissan GT-R, BMW M3, Audi S5 and the likes. It would be such a move from Toyota, which after the '97 Supra has stayed away from super cars. About time...!

The more they polish this overbaked potato, the less I like it. What in Hell is this ridiculously overpriced wedge supposed to represent for the Lexus brand? They're trying so damned hard to be supreme sporty luxury thingy that I've lost track. This is as unimportant a car as the NSX was - the NSX meaning way too much to a lot of guys in California who did too many doodles in their notebooks in high school. Or is Lexus just trying to out-GT-R the GT-R, another overbaked thingy I can't get heated-up for? A very pointy pointless car is the whole LF-A phenomenon.

So three hundred total and how many of this "limited" version. I think Toyota should have just called it a Toyota and as an umbrella car it might make sense as a Lexus I really don't see the purpose. Yeah, I know F-sport, yada, yada, it ain't going to fool anyone.

mikedogg says:

talk about more exclusivity for the exclusive. "Lets lose more money that will do nothing for our public image! While we're at it, lets have our tracked out LF-A out-orange the GT3rs, so billionaires have more to gloat over millionaires!"
Like the original wasn't overkill already.

This is stupid.
Marketing is stupid.

is it too early to add a "pedal fail" joke?

Usually when a car costs this much and is hyped this much, I'm intrigued. But I really couldn't care less about this. Lamborghini can do orange. This Lexus is fug in any color.

I wouldnt buy that car even if i had the money because theres so many cars i would rather have that costs way less. You have to commend toyota though, they make a balls out super car with a "cost no object" approach and still released it in a suffering economy. While the likes of Honda pulled back their long overdue NSX replacement because of the economy. Grow some balls Honda and release the car.....its not always about the bottom line.

This might be somewhat of a deal at the price of a GT-R but if this is price anywhere near the current road version - no thank you. Would take any Ferrari or Porsche GT-3 over this any day.

why nurburgring edition? it holds no record there? at half a mill, a track preped lfa will still get spanked by an acr. makes no sense to me at all.
