Well, here it is on a race track, that means it's sporty right? Ok, maybe not, but it's going way faster around Suzuka than a Prius ever could.

The Prius was designed to drive around in endless stop and go traffic using as little gas as possible. It was never designed for the racetrack.
It's nice that the CR-Z is faster on the racetrack but if I were going to the track today I wouldn't choose it either.
To be honest I can't think of a situation where I would choose the CR-V.

I dunno, the pace on the straights looks pretty liesurely. They are marketing these things all wrong. They should say, "We want to make hybrids emotional and exciting, and the CR-Z shows the direction Honda wished to take the technology. And next, we will produce a CRX successor for our fans. Light, tossable, and eager with a popular price."

no lift-off at 130R, only F1 car or SuperGT car can do it :)

While I give Honda credit for trying to make a "different" hybrid, I cringe every time I see the car and think about how the public and press will react to it. Its like waiting for Honda's version of the Pontiac Aztec to launch.
The money would have been better spent making Honda's i-CDTi Civic meet US safety and pollution standards, and importing that car instead.

I wander what was the MPG of this car on the track. I'm sure if, for instance M3, would follow this car the MPG of M3 would be better.

I am intrigued by this car. I will definitely be test driving one. I won't buy one as I don't want a car payment right now, and I want to save for the Porsche 918. I may be 95 years old by the time I can afford the 918 but what a way to go out!

I confused as to what about the video was supposed to impress me.

Doesn't seem that fast really.

f1ndler, you've been watching TopGear :) I got a kick out of that test too, even though some of their other facts were a bit slanted it was fun like they always are.
And they are right, a hybrid isn't the car to take to the track if you want to get good mpg while there (or if you want to go fast). Everywhere else the hybrid would get much better mpg than the M3, you might doze off while driving it but you'll save gas. Whenever I see a Prius I think of the VW ad where the guy makes the hybrid sound.
I think Honda missed the mark with that video, they are saying the car should handle well and be fun, just not 'fast' and so they take it to a race track?
Why try to show that it's fast when it is just going to get people talking about how it isn't.
