How to Make a Smart Car Even Sillier: Hibiscus-Flower Stickers

Smart hibiscus 1600.jpg
Do you find that people take you entirely too seriously when you drive your Smart car? Well, the folks at the Smart home office in Stuttgart, Germany have just the thing for you in the form of newly available "adhesive foil stickers."

Perhaps you find that stickers of the flower with the freakishly over-sized pistil telegraphs just the right message. If not, perhaps one of the other five options (a few of which are pictured below) suits you better. It's your car, chief. The stickers cost the equivalent of $350 and are thusfar available only in Europe.

Personally, we're waiting for an optional body kit that turns the Smart into a rolling Hello Kitty head. We're just tough like that.

If I recall correctly, the Saturn Ion had decals like these for the pillars. At least for the SMART car, stuff like this fits with the unconventional aura about the car. For a more conventional vehicle like the Ion, it just made it even more sad.

Ford is planning to offer stickers/decals/graphics for the Fiesta as well: http://www.fordfiestagraphics.com/. I'm sure they'll eventually pop up on other hipmobiles like Scions, Soul, Cube, etc.

Let me guess... were they inspired by the recent Mythbusters episode where they proved that you can actually polish a turd?

Some "SMART" ideas,
Seatbelts buckled all the time.
Don't travel with loved ones.
Stay off the highways.
Relocate to a small town, 800 or so people.
Leave it parked for people to show the kids.
