In a couple of hours GM is expected to announce that Bryan Nesbitt, the young former designer best known for designing the Chrysler PT Cruiser, will be removed from his position as Cadillac general manager.
Nesbitt, a protege of Bob Lutz, got the Cadillac job last summer, making his the second-shortest stint as a general manager, behind Michael Richards, the boss of Buick-GMC whose tenure was so short he never unpacked his stuff.
This is yet another example of what appears to be an unstable management team at the post-bankruptcy GM. No word yet on who will replace Nesbitt, but there's already a rumor afloat that Nesbitt will return to a Europe where he formerly served as design director at GM Europe.
The move appears to be part of a larger shake-up of marketing and sales executives reported by Automotive News yesterday.

Agreed, notabigdeal. The hairstyle and spray-on tan seal the deal.

@felonious: I know. What's up with that hair?

Not a big deal, is it?

The new GM, what's really changed, other than they have tax payer money?

This is really weird. I thought Nesbitt had a good vision for Cadillac, especially the brand's three-pronged approach to trim levels: base, V, platinum. Hopefully that continues.

That he designed the PT is a plus. That car was a huge hit considering it was just a small cleverly styled wagon.
That someone in his 40's is doing his hair like he's 20 something shows he's a little out of touch with the world around him.

Yeah, I was thinking this same thing. This guy's appearance just screams "douchebag".
By the way...that is by far the best color on a CTS. ;-)

Agreed, firstwagon. The PT is actually a very intelligent and sophisticated design, drawing elements from steampunk novels and films. It's just outlived it's welcome by a good six or seven years.

His hair is a badge indicating he comes from the creative side, rather than accounting or sales (which apparently this Administration doesn't trust).

Pauly D called. He wants his hair gel back.

Of all GM's brands, Cadillac seems headed in a good direction. So I'm not sure why the change now. As for the hair, he's creative and this is more East Village or Willamsburg than Motor city. If he had Detroit hair, it'd be a mullet.
