Aston Martin really is going through with this tarted up Toyota. The idea itself isn't crazy -- that its current owners might want a small city car once in awhile -- but building such a car out of an existing Toyota that retails for about $12,000 or so seems a bit of a joke.
Then again, look at that interior and those shiny side mirrors. And of course, there's that lovely badge on the hood. Hardly seems enough to justify the $33,000-$63,000 premium over the price of the Toyota version. Luckily for us, there are no plans to export any to the States.

Nice exterior--modern, but tasteful.
Interior tries too hard to out-MIni the Mini. As a result it is garish, too shiny, too plasticky, and ultimately cheap looking-- for 45K base price. What happened to traditional British brown leather and wood accents?

"No, It Is Not a Joke!"
Yes, it is! Evidently, though, the joke is on them.

Every time I see the Cygnet I can't help but wonder what's the point of it....:-?

Although you have to own a normal Aston to be eligible to buy one of these, I can't help but feel that Aston is taking a course in brand dilution 101.
