American Muscle Invades the Geneva Auto Show

Corvettes-at-Geneva-2.jpg

American muscle has come to Geneva, but not in full force. There are four Corvettes, including a ZR1 and a Grand Sport; a bright yellow Camaro SS; a Challenger SRT8; and a wicked flat-black Charger.

No Mustangs. No Vipers. We checked. Oh, and there's a CTS-V sedan, too, but nobody seems to have noticed.

More photos on the next page.

The Challenger is still #1 in my book for the reiteration of the Muscle Car. This one in particular just looks mean.

If only my garage held more vehicles...

I understand the Mustang and the Camaro are better straight line, road course, etc. But I don't race. This car is made for cruisin. (not that I really do that either, but I could in this!)

Love the Challenger. I think I'll need to pick up a nice used example in a few years ;)

The thought of seeing a Camaro or Challenger in Europe makes me laugh a little. It would seem so outlandishly out of place. Maybe thats a good thing, if you're looking to catch people's eye.

@dougtheeng
I was in Italy last year and there was a Dodge Viper parked on the side of the street. It certainly looked outlandishly out of place. Everybody that walked by stopped and many took pictures. It was such a big car surrounded by little diesels. It was kind of comical actually.

I like the Corvette but I wished I loved it. I think the Vette would be gain a higher level of global recognition if it had a higher level of perceived quality and a higher level of sophistication. In the pictures above it looks a bit cheap.

^^The Corvette IS relatively inexpensive, but I think the front bumper and headlamp design could be moved uplevel a bit. Cosmetically, I think the rest is great. Just keep refining the handling response.

Is the ZR1 badge on that Vette's rump crooked?

Love the matte black paint on that Charger.

good job !
Camaro is not a bad offer for europeans...both engines are not to thirsty and this cars has "compact" dimensions..
Challanger is too big , and its engines are , let's say out of place (maybe 5,7 Hemi is OK)

but where's mustang..
I belive that modern muscle is the best what america has right now..

maybe Caddy is a proper fighhter for boring german cares..but still look at this :
