In an effort to allow common folk the experience of driving its first four-door sportscar, Porsche has added two new entry-level versions of its Panamera sedan.
The kicker, of course, is the lack of V8 power. Instead, a V6 resides under the long hood of the rear-wheel drive Panamera and all-wheel drive Panamera 4. The 3.6-liter, direct injection six produces 300-horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Not bad, but not great either for a 4,000 pound sedan. Like the V8s, the V6 models get Porsche's dual clutch transmission as standard.
Prices will start at just $74,400 for the rear-wheel drive model and $78,900 for the all-wheel drive Panamera 4 when the cars go on sale in June.

295ftlbs from a 3.6L V6? Impressive!

That's less than 30 torque advantage over the G35 engine which has more horsepower and does it with port injection. And this is a heavy car. Money well spent?
