Infiniti Releases Pricing On 2011 M56 and M37

infiniti-m56-still-1600.jpg
It's still six weeks away from hitting dealers, but Infiniti wanted to give customers a taste of what they can expect to pay for its new M sedan.

The 2011 M56 will start at $58,615 for the rear-wheel drive model while the M56x will go for $60,915 to start. Sound expensive? It is, but that's what big-time luxury sedans cost these days.

You might also notice that the 2011 M56 starts at a substantially higher price than the current model. True, but the new M56 also comes standard with a premium package that was previously optional along with a handful of other newly standard features. The actual increase is more like $2,000 for the M56 and about $750 for the M56x.

The V6-powered, rear-wheel drive M37 will start at $47,115 while the all-wheel drive version will go for $49,265. Those numbers are about $450 more than the current M35 versions. In addition to the more powerful V6 (up to 330hp from 303), the M37s also get additional features like Active Noise Control, a rear view camera and an enhanced memory key system.

pricey, but still likely to be many thousands less than the new 5 series comparably equipped.

that front end will require some getting used to.

its not the ugliest thing Infiniti ever made. FX anyone?

the small wheels do not help the styling at all.

mozzz77788, the problem is they're trying to make it look like the FX. Blech.

I'll reserve judgment until I see the real car. The current M looks great.

Mozzz: I'd drive the FX purely based on looks. I dont know about the other things like interior etc but its making good sales for Infiniti. Someone must like it.

Another ugly front end....

Certainly no worse than Acura's new face.

Actually the FX did well in some areas and in the U.S. it was good for a time. Like I said, some must like it.

"Infiniti's best selling FX luxury crossover is Saudi Auto magazine's 2009 SUV of the year. Ever since the introduction of the FX crossover this model has become the best-selling Infiniti model in the GCC with over 4000 sales in FY2008." http://www.ameinfo.com/189726.html

In the U.S. in 2006: "The FX luxury crossover posted sales of 2,320 units in October, up 32.4 percent over last year." As a comparison the total G35 (sedan and coupe) sales were 2,771 units.

In 2010: Infiniti's European division is now offering a second run of the Limited Edition FX models. These cars are offered for the equivalent of $88,000 to almost $100,000. http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/01/how-the-other-half-drives-infiniti-launches-fx-limited-edition/

The current loaded M45x is $66,400.
Loaded A6 4.2 is $59,500.
Loaded 550i is $75,000.
Loaded E550 is $76,000.
You could spend more.
Or get an Audi for less!

I thought Infiniti is suppose to be a cheaper brand. More expensive than Acura, but comparable to Audi.
Now pricing higher than Audi, that's a little over the top.

Looks like a very expensive running shoe.
