Why Real Driving Is Better: Another Gran Turismo 5 Delay

honda_hsv-10_3.jpg

You know things are serious when Reuters is reporting on a delayed release date for Gran Turismo 5. Sony had said the long-awaited PS3 game would come out in Japan in March, with a predicted summer release for the U.S. and Europe. Today Sony backed away from that March 2010 release date. It's unclear if this will also force a delay for the U.S.

It turns out the Honda HSV-10, the Super GT version of the cancelled, second-gen Acura NSX, will be on the car list in GT5, as will the Honda CR-Z.

Great. At this rate, we'll also expect the game to include the production version of the Toyota FT-86 and its Subaru twin, the next-generation M5 and M3, and the reborn Mazda RX-7.

GMChrysler man, DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT!!!!! You can add all the cars you want forever AFTER you get the damn thing out of the freakin' gate! No sense in stalling just cause some new car come out and you want to add it...release the damn thing already!

deadviper is right on the mark...making expansion packs updating the car roster would solve the issue.

Can we please stop getting updates on this? I'm surprised they haven't quit on the whole thing already. All I have to say is that with their postponing, this better be the best game of all time. And of course it won't. Race Pro will still be the most realistic and Forza 4 will be out too.

This game is never coming out. They will have to add every new car that comes out every year and delay it again and again and again....

hey, why don't they delay it some more and add fighter jets and helicopters? this is so annoying. Do they know that auto makers come up with new models -- *GASP* -- all the freaking time? Do they need makers to pause in their R&D for a few years so they can put out a game that has it ALL? om$g.

@ felonious: Indeed you did. Sounds like a just-in-time-for-the-holidays release.

btw the demo video did show the FT-86 ... ugh

You know, they didn't say the new cars are the cause of the delay. I am mad like everyone else but I KNOW they aren't holding due to some other cars. By the way, I love the end, it will come out in time for the production FT-86.

Maybe the Volt will be out by then too?

Or the second-gen Volt?

this article makes people think that they delay because of new models coming out, but it's not, and people are not reading carefully

That's what they get for being perfectionist, impatient people complaining.

Polyphony is too perfectionist, and Japanese, you know, they won't give up until they think it's perfect
