Just in case all you NSX lovers out there didn't have enough salt in your wounds already, Honda released a new batch of photos of the HSV-010 GT, You may recall that this is the race version of the next-generation NSX that was abruptly canceled at the last moment.
According to the specifications released by Honda, the HSV-010 GT is powered by a 3.4-liter V8 that produces at least 500 horsepower and roughly 300 pound-feet of torque. Doesn't sound like much, but the car weighs in at about 2,425 pounds so it should be plenty fast. Doesn't look half bad either.

Come on Honda how are these any different from the track photos? No pictures of the dash or the race engine. Is it illegal to get anymore closer than 5 feet to this car? And how about putting a driver next to it for perspective because I think this car is deceivingly small.
On a side note, look how prediction those lights appear to be. How far along in development did Honda get before they decided to pull the plug. Also don’t Super GT cars have to be based on production cars? If Honda worked out a deal to get around that loophole any win will be contested. Due to new regulations in Super GT only front engine rear drive cars can race. I speculate that’s why Honda with only the rear engine NSX was allowed to race the HSV-10 if the rules didn’t change with the new regulations.

Look at how close to production the design of this car is. I can't believe they cancelled this and came out with the CR-Z instead. I don't get why Honda has to be such a politically correct car company. I'm not saying that they should act unethically but I wish if they could spoil themselves just this once and bring this car to production.

Yeah I know! I mean, obviously Acura has the capability to build a good-looking car...

Oh wow. Honda did goof on this car. They accidentally left off the shield face. I'm sure they'll patch it tomorrow.

lucky for Toyota that Honda isn't selling this to the public. This car looks a lot better than Lexus new sport car...

Wow, nice looking car! But I don't think I could drive anywhere with car parts that low.

1" ground clearance is more than enough.
You wannabe crossover owners are spoiled.
Who needs crossover ground clearance.

In a article I read a while ago, Ito expressed that he REALLY REALLY wanted to produce this car but he had to use/redirect the funds for other more important, higher volume projects.
Many people fail to realize Honda is still a relatively small company who's resources aren't as vast as others therefore they have to be extra extra careful on how they use their resources. It's the reason why they've weathered this economic storm better than many manufacturers simply because of their strict yet effective business practices.
