This might be our favorite unintended consequence of Fiat's "mentorship" of Chrysler: Instead of occupying its usual spot in luxury row, Ferrari will have its booth smack between Dodge and Jeep at this month's Detroit Auto Show. Oh, yes, and Maserati will be there, too.
That's just how it goes when you're part of the Fiat Group. Evidently, it's hoped you'll come for the Italian sports cars and stay for the, um, Plum Crazy Challenger and whatever the latest going-away-special Viper is. And if you're aching to see another electric car, well, get yourself over to the Fiat 500 EV exhibit.

While purchasing is cost exclusive, wantonness is universal. It's very inappropriate, but the audience should be the same anyway.

Awww poor Ferrari, having to schlub it with the commoners. Boo hoo hoo. I really hate how the Ferrari exhibit is always roped off from the public, yet certain VIPs and "potential" customers get allowed in to look at the Ferraris up close. I mean, if you're in the position to buy a Ferrari, are you really going to look at them at an auto show that's available to the *gasp* general public? If you're in the market for one, then go do it at a dealership on your own. I say let everyone look at the Ferraris up close and personal at the auto shows for once. Ferrari, if you can't spare one or two vehicles to use as demos that the public can actually look at and sit in, then why bother showing up with your display in Detroit in the first place?

Robert, you either know very few rich people, or an exceptionally humble bunch. Being SEEN as important enough to get inside the rope is for many people very important. It's the same syndrome as those two idiots that crashed the state dinner or all the idiots on the "Real Housewives of..." shows.

Not a Ferrari fan, to be honest, they shouldn't have ropes up for them they lost exclusivity to me when they sent out the California, beautiful car. but the unattached exhaust pipes, killed the brand. didn't think they would go that direction when they cost so much. U make dodge/Chrysler level cars, u get put with them. This is karmas way of saying.....IMPROVE YOUR METHODS. The prestige belongs to Bentley and Aston.

*note, by level of car, im referring to their choices in build quality. They r now the upscale Chrysler. I can let the Lexus IS-F pass, but come on now. Seeing the level of perfection Ferrari usually brings forward, its just inexcusable. So I'm enjoying this satire.

They are all under the same umbrella now. I'm sure the Ferrari snobs are ecstatic.
