Horsepower for Haitians: Corvette Headed for Charity Auction

corvette-barrett-jackson-ha.jpg
GM is doing its own special kind of earthquake relief by donating this Corvette to the Barrett-Jackson auction. All proceeds from the auction of the Corvette will go directly to the Red Cross relief fund which has already received a $100,000 donation from the General Motors Foundation.

If you're curious, this is a limited-edition 2008 Z06 Corvette that features an exclusive Crystal Red exterior color, chrome exterior accents, a stinger hood stripe and Crystral Red center trim plate. The car will cross the block this Saturday night as lot# 1318.

Don't get me wrong, anybody that puts up anything for auction with all the proceeds going to charity is pretty awesome in my book. But this thing blows away the Chrysler 300 that was auctioned off after being autographed by virtually everybody at the Golen Globe Awards.

Cool? Yes. But would you ever drive it?
