Chrysler-Lancia Delta at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

We noticed a crowd forming around the Chrysler-Lancia hatchback when she came out.

As we walked around the unassuming brown hatchback, we noticed the Brembo labels on the brake calipers. It's an odd bit of name-branding on an otherwise de-branded Lancia Delta hatchback.

That is hideous.

I don't think the color is helping it either. Did Chrysler even bring the 2011 Grand Cherokee to the show?

I have a bad feeling about this Fiat deal... I don't see Chrysler customers (or anyone else for that matter) as seeing this concept as a possible future Chrysler solution.

I like the overall look of the car, it looked good in the Tom Hanks movie Angels an demons. I think with some bigger wheels and in a darker color it would look much better. Are there any pictures of the interior?

I have absolutely no idea how I feel about this... one way or the other.

Now we know where Honda got their inspiration for the CR-Z’s ridicules front overhang. This car may not be a welcomed result of the Fiat-Chrysler tie-up, but it is different from Chrysler’s current line up and I’d say it’s more attractive than most Chrysler’s offerings (if not a little dated). I can see this car attracting older buyers who find the new Focus too “urban Youth”.

About Brembo brakes - I'm not that impressed. I guess flaunting these expresses your sporting credentials. However, the Infiniti G35 sport originally had them, and owners complained about the grime, squeaks, and short lifespan. Infinity has now switched, and brakes equally well with non-Brembos that are durable and hassle-free.

I have a similar issue with BMW brakes. You see executives driving these around all the time with hideously soot-ridden wheels from the brake dust. Unless you really need the extra capability for track use, I think the non-namebrand brakes are just better. Brembos on this family hauler just seems ridiculous and lame.

I dont think it looks bad. I'm not in the market for minivans but at least they incorporated the company logo into the design well.

I don't think it's a minivan, inlinesix. Pretty sure it'd compete with the Focus and Cruze.

@ jeepsrt: The 2011 Grand Cherokee is not here. However, there is an animated model of the Pentastar 3.6L V6. -- Erin Riches

I'm very curious to see what it would drive like. After decades of most people believing the only European cars were German or Swedish, I think it's great we'll be getting something else.

Who cares if it has a Chrysler badge on it.

The Chrysler Delta concept car is very attractive and appears to have a good utility purpose. A different color than the brown in the picture would have been better. Chrysler products I have owned in the past have been very good handlers and had a very comfortable driving position and seating. I hope this continues over to the new design. Reliabity was very good but has room for improvement. I did not expect my Chrysler products to be as good as the higher priced BMWs, Mercedes, and Lexus. Chrysler and Fiat have a good chance of producing a fine car.
