#NAIAS No big news at the BMW stand at the Detroit auto show today. The ActiveE electric car was the highlight, but BMW let that information loose a month ago. Nothing has changed since. It still plans to launch the car as a test program similar to the Mini E. That means low volume and high cost.
Still, the car could be interesting to drive. It uses rear-wheel drive and BMW says its engineers have tuned the electric drive system to mimic the feel of a normal gasoline engine. No word on whether they intend to pipe in the sound of an M3.
