One of our German operatives caught up with a camouflaged 2011 Audi A7 prototype just long enough to snap these first shots of the A7 hatch testing in the wild. Our first shots of the A7, caught undisguised in an Audi workshop, gave you a bits-and-pieces glimpse at the car's long, lean profile and true hatchback rear.
These latest shots, taken on a dark, foggy day in Germany, give a better perspective of the A7's broad stance and a quick look at its smooth rear deck as the test driver gunned it to get away. And we remain impressed by the close resemblance to the Sportback Concept that debuted last January in Detroit.

I believe based upon something I read on thecarconnection.com that Audi has possibly green lighted this car for the U.S. I look forward to the comparison of this car to the BMW 5 series GT.

Agree but the previous undisguised spy shots show A7 looks similar to A5 sportback so a lot different. Interior supposedly would be the same as A8.
I do hope the A6 is not just an A8 lookalike but probably not...
