Spy Photo: Next-Generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

mercedes_sl-class_spy.jpg

Mercedes doesn't redesign the SL very often. The current generation has been around since 2003, and the one before that had a 13-year run from 1990-2002. So at best, we're looking at a heavily camouflaged version of the 2012 or 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550, or rather SL500 as it's still known in Europe despite the 5.5-liter V8.

There's one very important detail visible here, though: a flat nose. Just like on the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

Even with the disguise in place it doesn't look as heavy as the current SL.

I think it looks AWESOME with all that camo on it. Real tough. Of course, I realize I am perhaps not the standard SL customer, but seriously, that thing is badass. Kinda post-apocalyptic Mad Max fight-to-the-death badass. Needs a flamethrower and maybe some machine guns. C'mon, Mercedes. Put me in a focusse gruppe.
