It has been rumored since early September that Danica Patrick might move to NASCAR or at least get her feet wet on a Nationwide Series team. Today that announcement is imminent, as the Sporting News learned yesterday that Patrick plans to join Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s Nationwide team, JR Motorsports. Patrick is expected to announce she'll drive a limited schedule in the Nationwide Series, while running all 18 races in the IndyCar series. GoDaddy will be her sponsor for both series.

I know it's petty but......this picture (and ones like it) of DP.....so unattractive. For someone that can look so good at times there are so many shots where she doesn't. Maybe she's the real, live personification of "bitch on wheels"?

^Yep, I've seen that picture used several times, and agree that it's not the best one of her. She looks a bit perturbed. But -- on the racetrack, her goal isn't to look pretty, but to win.

Also, what's the big deal about NASCAR? It seems a lot of IndyCar racers have gone, or want to go to NASCAR. I don't get it. I'm not a die hard racing fan, but when I watch, I just like Indy cars better. NASCAR just seems a crude parody of what used to be called stock car racing, but they're about as far away from stock cars as me being a professional race car driver.
