We all know that the muscle cars of yesterday went fast in a straight line, but were pigs in the corners, right? Jay Leno is aware we presume, so when he found a Challenger upgrade kit that he thought was worthy of his attention he decided to try it out. See how the Hotchkis-built 340 T/A Challenger fared in the latest video installment from Jay Leno's Garage.

Although I'm not a huge fan of old muscle cars, I do like it when they are refurbished on this level. Awesome.

There is nothing that sounds like a MOPAR with all six barrels wide open and screaming. Why do you think that Ford puts the induction noise enhancer on new Mustangs? Induction noise is so addicting....something that small motors and turbos dont really have. I had so much fun in High School just flipping the top of the air cleaner over on anything with a Quadra-jet and letting it moan....but the best was the neighbors '71 New Yorker 440. Open up that AFB and people would gasp for breath from the lack of air that thing was pulling down into that long stroke MOPAR.

If I had the means, I'd do the exact same thing to the car.

There are plenty of smaller displacement engines that have addictive induction noises.

The list can go on.
