Designer Michael Leonhard says the winner of this auction will get a modern-day Road Runner built on a brand new chassis with custom bodywork and a turbocharged 6.1-liter Hemi V8 under the hood.
He expects the project to take the better part of a year and promises to deliver the finished car at the 2010 L. A. Auto Show. Never before has "bid at your own risk" sounded more appropriate.

I actually love the design as it's very close to the original yet doesn't have any of the visual bulk of the Challenger. This it hot.
