So the 2010 Lotus Evora won't be cheap. Should be fast though.
It weighs less than 3,000 pounds and is powered by a 276-horsepower Toyota V6. Lotus says to expect a 0-to-60mph time of less than 5.0-seconds and a 155mph top speed. U.S. sales are expected to begin in the first quarter of next year.

How is this thing going to compare to a similarly priced Corvette Z06?

Performance wise it won't compare to the Z06, plus it's a 2+2. According to Car and Driver it's closer to look at the Porsche Cayman.

For that price, I'm thinking GTR.

I mean, I like it a lot, but too bad it cannot be priced around $60K.

@jederino
I agree, 74 grand for a Toyota V6, no thanks.

No thanks. You can go to town on a Cayman S's option sheet for that much dough. Not to mention the whole flat-six thing...

Why is toyota/lexus technology priced so high. Maybe Lotus saw what toyota was selling their LFA supercar for and decided they could make a play off of it, and charge you twice for the engine.

This is the Toyota Camry's engine. Toyota tech isn't so expensive, just Lotus charging it.
i would get a Cayman.

I'll take the Evora over a Cayman anyday. You guys are nuts!
93aero says:

I know it's not literally expensive. I'm mocking the over priced LFA and how toyota parts are now worth thier weight in gold for no reason.
billt9 says:

...Except the LFA costs more than Toyota's charging for it, as they developed way too many new in-house techs for that one car.
The Camry V6's actually extra cheap, with Toyota anouncing they cut $1,500 cost per engine couple years ago.

I think they messed up...$15k more than a Cayman S? Can they really justify that? It's going to have to come loaded with all the goodies you want to compete, or else it's going to be a real niche player for people who really want a Lotus...

$40K should be plenty for a go-kart this nice.
