You can imagine what happens when an overeager dealership employee gets the order guide information for the 2011 Ford Mustang... he posts it on the Web.
The big Mustang refresh was for 2010, obviously, but Ford will apparently keep things interesting for 2011 by offering a six-speed automatic transmission (in place of the 5-speed auto, we surreptitiously surmise) and a Brembo brake package.
In addition, the California Special package (last offered for '09) is back, and our sleuth reports there will be an SVT Performance package with 3.73 rear gears (you couldn't go shorter than 3.55 on the 2010 GT with five-speed manual... unless you ordered the Track Pack), 19-inch wheels and unique spoiler.
Ford dealers will evidently begin taking orders on January 18, 2010, with production starting March 15.

Actually, the "track pack" had 3.73 gears for 2010.

What about talk of a ~300bhp 3.7L V6 replacing the old (OLD!) 4.0?

@ greenpony: You are correct. I've edited the post. And I'm wondering if the SVT Performance package isn't just the Track Pack renamed for 2011. We'll see.

With a new 350+ HP 5.0 or 6.2L V8
and that six-speed automatic trans.
I might be interested....
Now, if only that 'live axle' is ever
replaced with a good IRS...

I hope they don't start slapping SVT on everything like they did the Shelby name. It'll become as diluted as BMW's M has become.
