Chrysler has a long history of fairly meaningless and relatively short-lived brand logos. Now, the brand has a new logo and it is every bit as meaningless as any that has come before it. The Chrysler Group, however, believes this one won't be so short-lived.
This is probably not going to turn around the Chrysler division. Neither are the short-term special editions that'll hit the market early next year. They include a 300 Sport edition aimed at the young folks; the Town & Country Fashion Edition, targeting affluent young families; the PT Cruiser Final Edition, aimed at, you know, old people; and the Sebring Ocean Edition, for people with compromised vision.
Neither are the refreshes of the Town & Country and Sebring, scheduled for the end of next year going to do the trick.
We're hoping to hear more promising product news out of Chrysler later this afternoon.

PT Cruiser Final Edition--Finally, it's on its way out!
Sebring Ocean Edition--The perfect accessory boat anchor.
"...a 300 Sport edition aimed at the young folks..." This makes me laugh because I either see 300s as: old folk-mobiles, rentals, or pimped out with stereos, tint, grills, and dubs. Do they mean, like, regular young folks?

Oh yeah, I forgot.
Town & Country Unfashionable Edition--Only people smoking weed think driving a big box is fashionable.
I swear, these Fiat guys are better at comedy than Jerry Seinfeld!

As someone who has designed logos for over 30 years, I can't imagine how this logo would ever work on a letterhead, not to mention a business card. The word "Chrysler" is unreadable even at the size posted in this blog.
I do believe a logo revision has a time and place in business, but this is a complete waste of time and money—something Chrysler doesn't have a whole lot of...

Simple smaller logos seem to do it.

How about Chrysler printed on big rhombi (sp?) like Fiat?

I'm guessing this mostly for car badging, like the Chevy bowtie or the Honda "H". I'd hope they'd make the "Chrysler" text bigger when they'd need it.
