After a few private screenings in Europe, the Bugatti 16C Galibier concept arrived in L.A. last week for another round of viewings. This time Bugatti was looking to get the opinion of the "trend setting west coast crowd."
If they weren't impressed then Bugatti shouldn't bother listening as the 16C Galibier is a stunner in person. The deep blue body panels are made of carbon fiber and when the light hits them just right you can make out the weave beneath the surface. The shiny parts are polished aluminum and the clamshell hood hides an eight-liter supercharged W16 engine that can run on ethanol. The Hollywood types should approve.
According to Bugatti, the 16C Galibier is officially still a design study, but given that we have yet to see much else out of the Audi-owned carmaker lately it's a good bet that this car is headed for production. Expect to see it carry a seven-figure price tag similar to the Veyron coupe.

In such a price range, it's hard to discern concept from reality. Will it have 8 tailpipes? Will the polished aluminum be a feature? Will it get this hood over a conventional one?
I think, as a concept, this design is fabulous.

Now you are talking bugatti! What an astonishing design. Yeah this car deserves 8 tailpipes, 16 cylinders and its power and price tag dont deserve to end up with just 4 like the plebeyans.
Looks so modern, so 2010 and beyond, so luxurious, expensive, classy, powerful, congrats to the people who came up with it.

I guess this one is the low budget version of sedan because it doesn't even come with the sunroof:))) I'd like to know how many cup holders it has;)
Seriously, what a fabulous piece of machinery!

Wow, take a Panamera and put a Bugatti label on it and everyone loves it!
It is a quite striking car. I hope it goes into production just like this. They will be swarming all over OPEC countries in no time!

Well the profile looks like a panamera, yeah, but the lines are so much cleaner. There's less fussy detailing and more classic beauty in this car than the Panamera, especially at the rear. Also, the curvature of the roof line is different, which makes a big difference. It makes the panamera look obese but makes this look stylish and sporty. Overall, this is pretty cool. It almost looks like it could have belonged in the 1920's or something, but with a modern flair. And you have got to love those intimidating headlights. The only things I'm not sure about are the split rear window and the 8 exhaust tips. I think 8 is violating design principle just for the sake of putting Ferrari to shame.

"but given that we have yet to see much else out of the Audi-owned carmaker"
Bugatti isn't Audi owned. Bugatti is owned by Volkswagen's France subsidiary of VWAG.
Lamborghini is 100% Audi owned.
Audi is a 99.55% subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group VAG
Just to clear things up...

Wow, truly a stunning concept, from tip to tail. The details are incredible. The 8 exhaust outlets did make me laugh though. They're as unnecessary as a Grand Am's quad outlets.

Not much about this car is about necessary anyting. This is going to be one beast of a machine. The interior is simply to die for, simplicity and complexity in the perfect blend i might say.

Ok let me rephrase, the details of the car are astounding, but the eight pipes are just silly-looking.
