The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible goes into production at GM's Oshawa, Ontario, plant in January, and over the weekend, it was spotted in Michigan.
Just one question from us: Who at New GM approved the Camaro drop top with two, count 'em, two rear antennas, and one raised blister for the center brake light?
Seriously, we want names.

If this is a pre-production car, you can't assume both will appear on the final car, can you?

Also, it goes into production January *2011*, not 2010 as this post suggests.

I'm thinking one is for satellite radio and the other terrestrial radio, but why not integrate them?

I'm sure they are just fitted for testing.
I hope...

How can it get any more ugly?

Regardless, the brake light's ugly.

I've seen S-Class sedans with two satellite antennas, one in the normal spot on the roof and another on the trunk lid. Chevy should just bring back the double antenna from the 1960s Impala SS.

Looks like a Pep Boys yard sale

In all fairness to GM, the radio antenna is probably integrated into the rear window glass on coupes. This doesn't work on convertibles so you either have to fit a very expensive in-body antenna (like the BMW 3-Series convertible has) or add a whip aerial like this. The sat antenna is of a completely different design and can't really be combined.
What GM could have done to clean this up is fit a lower-profile body-colored sat antenna on the decklid like many of the Germans/Japanese use instead of GM's trademark giant unpainted black plastic lump that they seem to haphazardly stick anywhere. The CHMSL could be relocated into the rear spoiler. The decklid has to be unique to the convertible anyway so why not design it right?

put the brake light on the spoiler itself, and then put the antenna either in the spoiler or make it a small antenna...either way this is unacceptable even though its just for tests.
