2011-bmw-5series-f34-1600.jpg

The official debut of the 2011 BMW 5 Series is scheduled for tomorrow, but it looks like BMW couldn't quite contain itself as these teaser shots leaked out onto the net recently.

If anything, they confirm what we''ve suspected all along. The new 5 Series will look much like the latest 7 Series and the new 5 Series GT. Look for full specifications and more pictures comes tomorrow at 2:00 EST.

Too close to the 7 series, but at least it isn't painfully ugly like the E60 was.

It reminds me somewhat of the new XJ from this front quarter angle.

Looks like it has the alley cam like the 7-Series. So far looks nice, I like the headlights. I would expect it to be somewhat of a conservative look given the segment.

I saw a gorgeous 2002 540i Sport today similar to this one:

The E39 was simply a timeless design, too bad the newer designs are too bland.

I dunno hondacura, the E39 is a little boring to me, it's the M Sport wheels that really set it off. There's little in the way of surface detailing.

I like this new style so far. Pretty conservative but good.

Give me an E60 over the previous 5's any day.

Although it essentially looks like a 7 Jr or 3 Sr, it appears to have a substantially cleaner design than the current 5 series, a car that I can't quite pinpoint what looks wrong with it, but odd it is.

Hey, I'll take boring over Bangle any day! Still the best evolution of BMW design happened on all of the cars that debuted in the mid to late nineties. Think: E39, E38 and E46. Sadly, this was also a low point in overall build quality and reliability which greatly takes away any desire to own one of these now that they are becoming well used.

I don't get it. Just show the whole thing. Its not like its a radical new change or entirely new model. Who cares, just take the dumb sheet off of it.
Oh and let me guess, the interior will be exactly the same as 1997.

Dude, you obviously aren't a real car guy. This strip tease is foreplay!

"Dude, you obviously aren't a real car guy. This strip tease is foreplay!"

You couldn't be farther from the truth with that statement! Come on though, I can see all this nonsense with the new Challenger or M3 or something, just not here.
It got ridiculous with the redesigned Mustang remember? Every other week we got another glimpse of half of a headlight or something. I can definitely appreciate a good strip tease , but sometimes its just annoying.
