Not to be outdone by BMW in teasing department, Audi has released this short preview of its upcoming 2011 A8 sedan. Scheduled for an official debut in Miami on the 30th of this month, we've been told that this new A8 is an evolution of the current model, not a dramatic redesign. The current A8 looks nice but it's way behind the times in technology, powertrain, and chassis dynamics compared to the S-Class and 7-Series. I drove an '09 A8 recently and even the interior feels a step behind Audi's own other offerings. It's definitely overdue for a redesign - the expectations in this price class are just too high.
Plus since Audi has stated it to be an evolutionary change I doubt they'll have ruined the gracefulness of the current car. If anything it will probably look better - with better integration of Audi's current design language. The current one kind of has tacked-on elements added in mid-cycle refreshes, like the single-frame grille and LED running lights.
