Spotted at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show

Looks cool. But what's it powered by?

It's a Mazda RX-500. Shown at the 1970 Tokyo Auto Show, it sports a 250-horsepower midengine 10A rotary. It's cool. Reminds me of the Ferrari "breadvan" racecars.

Interesting...I recall that in the early '70s, rotary power was considered the next big revolution in vehicle engines, so this concept would be appropriate for the era.


It's sad that even Mazda's translators don't know the grammatical difference between its and it's.
