Remember that Honda Accord Crosstour wagon that made its debut on Facebook awhile back? Well, it's back, and this time Honda has provided shots of the interior to give you an idea how much room there is in back.
Does it look like it's worth it to you?
Honda also noted that the Crosstour will come standard with a 3.5-liter V6 and be positioned at the top of the Accord lineup. It also notes that the Accord Crosstour will offer "four-wheel drive" as an option. Wonder what kind of transfer case they're using?

Interior is unchanged which means this is an accord hatch with a nice price premium lumped on. Why is this car going to be $35k or more? The cargo bay is compromised by the intrusion of the wheels at the front near the rear seats. And its still ugly.

This car has no real market. It looks to ugly to compete with Toyota VENZA or Ford Edge. It will only take away from normal Accord sales if anything.
what kind of transfer case they're using?
They will use a similar AWD system TO CRV or Element. I do not think they will use SH-AWD at this price point of around 30K.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to place a hatch at the top of the lineup in the US.
Give it a 4-cyl with a 5-spd and put it down with the base accord trim level (where people interested in practicality above all tend to shop...) and maybe I'd be interested some day.

Honda probably meant to say AWD as an option. 4x4 would just be stupid. One who would buy it {Crosstour} and two how many of the idiots that buy it will take it off road? Just my $0.02.

A wagon would be just fine, but this seems like it has no rear headroom.

"They will use a similar AWD system as CRV or Element."
Naimmecheng, actually the AWD system will be a version of the VTM-4 used in the Pilot and Ridgeline not the CRV's system which is drastically different.
SH-awd is and will remain Acura exclusive (as it should) even though the system is derived from the VTM-4.
"Why is this car going to be $35k or more?"
1487, where are you getting "$35K or more" from? A FWD V6 CrossTour should start in the $28K range (similar to a FWD Venza V6) and top out around $36K. A loaded AWD V6 Venza is nearly $40K.
I cant say I like this vehicle as the exterior styling alone makes me a bit sick and the interior is the same as the Accord sedan/coupe which isn't a bad thing but given its a different vehicle I expected a different interior design. In the end, the Venza looks more upmarket and its styling is 10Xs better.

What's the big deal about the dash? As far as I can tell, it's the standard Accord dashboard - am I missing something? I don't understand this car... It seems like a real misstep for Honda.

@hondacura4
Is the VTM-4 a Haldex, Torsen, or 3e magnetic system?

I kind of like this Crosstour...right up to the face that only a mother could love! C'mon, Honda!!! Tone down the front grill and I'm in. (That goes for the new Pilot, too!)

honda:
I am saying there is no reason for this to have a $5k price premium over the Accord just because it has a hatch and optional 4WD. The Venza does cost $38k loaded but it has features like HIDs and push button start that aren't on ANY Accord. Venza also has 6 speed automatic and 20" wheels which you wont get on this Honda. There is a reason the Venza costs more. The Toyota looks better but I wouldn't buy either of these wannabe station wagons.

@1487: As usual, you're delusional. Where did your $5k number come from? The Straightline article from earlier this week merely states that the Crosstour will be priced "at the top of the Accord range." Not $5k more than the top--AT the top.
The top of the 2010 Acccord range, an EX-L V6 with navigation, has an MSRP of $31,105. Based on what Honda is saying, that's pretty much the starting point for the Crosstour, which already has the same equipment as the EX-L V6. Figure an additional $2000 for AWD and you've maxed out the range, since Honda doesn't offer "stand-alone" options.
So, again, what corner of your remarkably imaginative brain came up with this alleged "$5k price premium"????????

What is going on! Is GM going to follow this and bring the CITATION? All the trouble and waste when they can go and do a simple station wagon.
1487 says:

HondaAcura just said (and others have speculated) that this vehicle will top out at $35k or more. The Accord tops out at $31k. Who exactly is delusional? I think the premium for a loaded model will come in at close to $5k.
Where did Honda say the Crosstour has the same standard equipment as EX-L V6? I read the V6 is standard. That isn't the same as the EX-L V6. BTW, the Venza you references is about $6k more than a comparable Camry.
Please read carefully before going on the attack next time. I don't make up facts.

I'd stick with the Odyssey or go to the Volvo wagon personally.
