Video: Hennessey's Corvette ZR1-Powered Camaro on the Dyno

You knew Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) would only be satisfied working on blown LS3 V8s for so long. So here's the Hennessey Camaro you knew was coming: a 2010 Camaro with an LS9 V8. That would be the same V8 rated at 638 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque in the Corvette ZR1.

Here's a video of said ZR1-powered Camaro on a chassis dynamometer. For these pulls, HPE is claiming 645 hp and 653 lb-ft of torque -- at the wheels, of course -- on 93 octane fuel. Naturally, we're eager to run our own tests to verify such heady claims.

Is it just me, or have we seen enough videos/read enough posts about the HPE Camaro? We know it's coming. I'm pretty sure there was a first drive and everything too. I'd like to see some other tuned Camaros now please.

I've read some real hair raisers about Hennessey on the Viper boards over the years.

Great. Get one, have Edmunds (not Hennessy) fill it up with pump gas, and see how it runs.

And oh yeah, in CA pump gas is 91 octane.
