Video: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS HPE650 on the Dyno

Hennessey Performance Engineering's eternal quest to build a faster Camaro continued on yesterday, as the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS HPE650 made a reported 622 horsepower on a chassis dynamometer.

Of course, Hennessey did feed it 109 octane race fuel before strapping it down. But just watching this car, you get the feeling it would crush every bone in your body if you allowed any slack in the straps.

If you're keeping track, we have already tested Hennessey's HPE550 Camaro, plus we've watched a later Camaro SS HPE550 pull a claimed 562 hp on the dyno.

Looks like Hennesey didn't like their car get spank by the regular GT-500.

109 octane race fuel? Because the thing will blow itself into a million pieces on pump gas. Just like the HPE550 in the comparo test vs the Stang Gt500. The Stang put down 514hp on pump gas. The HPE550 was run on race gas. Put pump gas in it and see how it matches up...

Seriously, who at Edmunds is Hennessy boinking to keep on getting this press?
