Just when you thought the biggest worry of your typical WRC driver was the prospect of manufacturers cutting budgets or dissolving teams altogether, a Brisbane, Australia, newspaper reported yesterday that this weekend's Australian stage of the World Rally Championship may be compromised by environmental protesters throwing frozen koalas. Dead ones. Mercifully.
"Some of the bizarre things are that there is road kill been put in freezers that is going to be thrown onto the road during the event," said Superintendent Michael Kenny said of the Tweed-Byron, Australia, police department.
The protesters claim the rally will frighten off local wildlife and disrupt the breeding season, the article reports.

If by some chain of events a long time from now humans become dominated by another species, I really hope the "compassionate" ones among them don't protest on our behalf by throwing frozen human bodies in the road. That would kinda suck.

...because nothing says "I love the planet" more than throwing dead members of its ecosystem at automobiles.

Can we freeze PETA members and throw them at PETA rallies?
