Sweet! The fastest that I have ever driven was 140 in an Acura NSX. Thrilling to be sure, but boy do things happen quickly at those speeds!!!

This is a hilarious contrast to the previous post (pig encounter).

I got my moms old crossfire up to 135. It was scary. That thing actually would run up to the 155mph limiter, but it would have taken awhile.

Ive been a bit over 165 in a 996 911, of course I wasn't driving nor did I mind. =) To this day Im still amazed how composed, stable and solid that car was at those speeds. The Germans do high speed stability the best.

I see 148, not 150. Just practicing being an auto journalist, and nitpicking ;-]
scary nonetheless. Glad it felt good.

So how was it "at speed"? And how accurate is the speedometer?

i did 120 in my 2001 honda civic over the san mateo bridge about 10 years ago and i thought the thing was gong to blow up. i recently did 152 in my bmw 535 in the poconos not on the race track on route 80.

Did 161 mph in the R8 on an autobahn earlier this year. Phenomenal car.

to echo greenpony a bit, i remember a particular article (in C&D?) several years back that noted most cars to be somewhat "optimistic" when it comes to their speedos. in fact, a 911 was about 10 mph too optimistic when it got up to those triple-digit speeds.
it's one thing to get a ticket for speeding, but wouldn't 150 land you straight in jail in most places?

Very cool.
Over the summer, I was in a Ferrari and we went up to 140.
I've been up to 125 in my dad's Mustang.
However, the fastest I've driven is 70.
But I've only been driving (with my permit) for a month.
=).

Nice work! I assume the car feels pretty composed at those speeds.
