Work has begun on the Chevrolet Camaro that Conrad Grunewald will drive in the 2010 Formula Drift season. We don't know much in the way of specs, yet, but apparently, a version of the Cadillac CTS-V's 6.2-liter supercharged V8 is going into it this car -- you know, a la Camaro Z/28. Projected horsepower is "over 600" at the rear wheels. Also look for Eibach Multi-Pro-R2 adjustable dampers and coilovers, three-piece Forgeline wheels and carbon fiber bodywork.
Luke Loneberger of Los Gatos, California, is making the modifications and Hankook is the tire sponsor (Ventu R-S3 rubber). You can track the car's progress on Grunewald's web site (right now they're working on the chassis and fabricating the roll cage) and you can go see it at SEMA in November. It will be one of many Camaros on hand at the show

RX-7 will kick its ass. Still, this is badass.

drifting is right up there with the nascar.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for a new Camaro to be involved in drifting.

"drifting is right up there with the nascar."
In a rare show of support for NASCAR, I would put it above drifting. Not my favourite type of racing but it is racing.
Drifting is more like burnout competitions, motorcycle jumping, wheelies and wheel stands.. basically side show stuff that's fun to watch before the real race starts.
