"The Slickest Cadillac Commercial Ever?" Yes.

I'll take mine in black...with a supercharger.

I haven't paid much attention to the CTS Coupe, but now that I've seen more photos of it, I'm quite impressed. I hope they come out with a CTS-V Coupe in the near future.

It's great that Cadillac is showing improvement, but what about the bread-and-butter development for the little people?

Cruze anyone? Nah, it's not a money-maker, so why waste ad space on it.

The bread-and-butter development is being left to the more inexpensive brands. I like seeing these kinds of commercials, especially considering how 99% of the ones on TV are just boasts about how cheap and fuel efficient a company's cars are.

Very good ad-- I'm an ad major at UT and wish I had thought of this.

I really would love to see a small RWD 1 series fighter asap, that like the BMW would have the same V6 offers at the larger CTS. A DI coupe that would be easier parking on the street would be awfully nice.

I guess I didn't get too excited over the ad. It's ok, but...

Decent ad. CTS looks nice. CTS wagon okay. CTS coupe = epic fail.

Great commercial but I still think the Cadillac Commercial "Punk Rocker" is still one of the best car ads I have seen

I dunno about the ad. It reminded me of this one, expect this one is more clever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnCmjE5-9aU

"Cruze anyone? Nah, it's not a money-maker, so why waste ad space on it."

I'm pretty sure that when the car comes out the ad campaign will be huge. Its not out for 8 months. This ad is just a teaser for the CTS Coupe.

"Decent ad. CTS looks nice. CTS wagon okay. CTS coupe = epic fail. "

I'm SHOCKED at your sentiments. Who would've guessed you'd disapprove?

dougtheeng says:

I hope for success from the coupe, but I'm unsure what to expect.

brn says:

blueguydotcom: "epic fail"

Didn't that finally go out of style, even on slashdot?

blueguydotcom says:

08:20 AM, 09/ 1/09

@1487, Yet, again, you focus on the negative. Smile, one day you may be happy. :)

1487 says:

While "epic fail" is quite the profound statement I don't understand why you would say that if you like the CTS sedan and wagon. The buzz on the internet has been positive. In fact, most people seem to like the design much more than I do.

blueguydotcom says:

@brn,

How about the CTS coupe is Larry Hagman's liver?

brn says:

09:08 AM, 09/ 1/09

Much better.

moparbad says:

I'm not a fan of this advertisement. It is artificial and contrived. Lack of detail of the vehicles due to the distance of the view and even though advertising is fiction, the jet/rocket testing suggestion is lost as soon as the car is identifiable.
As to the product, bravo to Cadillac and GM for the Art and Science design theme and for expanding the CTS to a range of sedan, shooting brake, and coupe.
CTS not only looks good, it drives nicely, is an attractive value, and has well executed interior.

sigmabody says:

Um... maybe I'm missing something, but isn't Cadillac made by Government Motors? You know, with their new force-fed focus on "green" powerless eco-stupid souless junk-mobiles? How does this fit into the government product lineup of costly poorly-made cars subsidized by the People's Party?

Maybe this concept/commercial was already in the pipeline beore the current Czar came into power...

mind_ride says:

I like the last line in the ad:
"America, we have reignition."

fuhteng says:

10:14 AM, 09/ 1/09

I like it. I really like that last line too.

ptcdawg says:

I like the idea of a nice American made coupe. At some point, I may have to replace my SC300, but a manual transmission would be a MUST.

stovt001 says:

11:11 AM, 09/ 1/09

Well, not the best ad ever, but pretty cool. Like mind_ride said, the last line was the best part of the commercial. It was a nice way of saying things have changed, without the sappy "we failed and beg your forgiveness" stuff that came out immediately post-bankruptcy.

Hopefully it generates interest in the wagon, so that segment can once again take its proper place as the most sensible car for the American market.

Sigmabody, I believe what you have is "selective perception bias" or something like that. You have a pre-conceived conclusion, and you dismiss any evidence against that conclusion. Maybe this is an indication that government ownership might not mean GM makes nothing but econo-boxes. Lutz's assertion, if true, that the automotive task force loved the CTS-V coupe would be a further indication that GM will be allowed, perhaps even encouraged, to make exciting cars.

blueguydotcom says:

@ptc, the original SC300/400, in my eyes, have stood the test of time and remain the best looking cars Lexus has ever made. I really don't get why Lexus abandoned that car. Keep it forever. :)

stovt001 says:

01:26 PM, 09/ 1/09

Oddly enough, I agree with BGDC's last post. Those were cool cars, even more so considering the current SCs. Still, the CTS coupe will certainly offer a proper manual (well, at least it stands to reason it will since the sedan does) so if you must get a new car, that should work.

albook says:

The coupe looks awesome. Funny how they convieniently left out the STS DTS and Escalade...
