I'll admit I know basically nothing about Hennessey other then they modify cars.
What's people beef with them (him)?

Sufferin' succotash! At wide open throttle, that motor sounds like it's spitting. Is that a typical V10 sound? Not good, in my opinion.

Fraud, theft, combative attitude, etc. Do a google search.
And BTW, 1000 whp Vipers aren't that hard to do. It's an 8+ liter engine. Slap 15 psi of boost into it and you're right at 1000 hp (o.k., good idea if you do rods and pistons, but that doesn't take talent). Shoot, there are 600-700 whp naturally aspirated vipers running around out there.

yep - so the minute you hit the throttle you can end up around that light pole, or the trunk of the guy in front of you, or the bathroom behind the wall of your garage, or the canyon over the edge of that mountain road you were trying to look macho-e-macho on. yep, makes a whole heck of a lot of sense.

A lot of HP will bite you right back!

I found it very funny that the Viper happenes to be one of the few cars that still has no stability or trac control. So basicaly its a 1000hp death machine (unless you know how to drive, but even then your probably still gonnna die)

Let me guess, this one, like all the other Hennessy cars (Hennessy Camaro anyone?), won't run on pump gas either...
Did he mess up the Viper's suspension and handling too?

A 1000hp Viper, huh? That's nice.
Wanna see a 1200hp Supra?
jimveta says:

lol, and if you're not satisfied with that 1200hp supra, you can always move up to a 2000hp Pontiac:

or this 2200hp car (0-60 in 1sec, 7 sec 1/4 mi, street legal, etc)

In fact Nelson Racing who built the Pontiac above offers a 3000hp package (700 cube, twin turbo)
