This is likely the first time that the hybrid version of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata has been caught during early testing. Although various Sonata prototypes have been caught before, this test mule was accompanied by gas/electric versions of the Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry.
For further confirmation, our shooter managed to snap a shot of the engine bay that clearly shows the high voltage wiring you would expect to see under the hood of a hybrid. What you can't see are the lithium ion polymer batteries that Hyundai says are superior to the standard lithium ion batteries that will power vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and various upcoming hybrids.

If this car turns out as good as its specs and the sum of its parts then what a coup that would be for Hyundai!!!
