Need help when your Mini breaks down? Well help is just an iPhone or "select" Blackberry away.
Don't have an iPhone? Well then you'll have to go caveman style and actually dial roadside assistance yourself.

Wonder when this will trickle up to BMW.

Wow, on a list of worthless things to put on a cell phone this could be the winner. This is almost as bad as putting M emblems on a trunk lid.

I can't believe theres an app for that...

Two things.
1. M emblems add 20hp at the wheels.
2. Why wouldn't this app be good for people who don't have an SOS button in their MINIs but still want to benefit from semi-precise GPS tagged roadside service requests?

tcd223:
1. AMG Wheels do that too for a Benz
2. You make a semi-valid point

tcd,
They can call the number that's pasted on the inner door jamb. The GPS coordinates = good grief, if you're so lost you don't know where you are, you probably can't use an iphone and its cheeseball capacitive screen.

While i can appreciate your viewpoint, as someone who isn't adverse to technology, I wouldn't mind having the iPhone app option if I didn't have some kind of onstar button.
And I don't know what your experience with the iPhone has been like, but the gps is usually quite accurate if you have a cell phone signal strong enough to place a call to roadside assistance in the first place.
But hey, if you want to have to get out of your car and look in the door jamb for a phone number, be my guess. I suppose I'm just lazy.
