John Hughes, Director of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Dies at 59

Director John Hughes, 59, died of a heart attack while walking in New York City today.

Hughes directed several movies in the 80s and 90s that featured a long list of notable vehicles. Chief among them is the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but who could forget the "family truckster" from Vacation or Jake's Porsche 944 in Sixteen Candles?

Clearly, Hughes knew how to cast vehicles as well as he did teenagers.

RIP - dude owned the 80s when it came to teen films. Ferris, Sixteen Candles and Breakfast Club are cinema classics.

R.I.P. Mr. Hughes. Uncle Buck is one of my favorite movies of all time.

I watched sixteen candles just to get a glimpse of the 944. It's an automatic by the way so fail. I have a strange love for 944's, too bad most of them are over the hill now.

Still like the size and shape of the 944.
