Looks like an evolution of the 2007 CS concept.

Another niche model. BMW is going to start having flopping in the states due to allthis model overflow. It's sad because this is the first halfway decent looking product out of stutgart in years.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!! Better get hastega up and cast thundaga over and over again. Unfortunately it's immune to slow, blind, death, petrification...maybe summon ifrit and see if he can melt it.

Like the HIDEOUS X6, this is another niche market vehicle that fails to impress. What's even more laughable is the fact that this front end was already out on Hyundai's concept 'Veloster' more than 1 month ago:

Wowwwwww....BMW took the Honda Crosstour, sent it through a blender with a robot from hell, and out popped this monstrosity. This car has more lines, creases, and wrinkles than my great grandmother.

Did we mention it's ugly?

As seen in the X6, the new Grand Turismos, and this my observations are clarified. BMW no longer gives a $#!T about styling.

I don't care what anyone says. You can copy a design a thousand times but it still won't look better than the original. This "4 door coupe" styling is the "hottest new fad" and everyone from Jaguar to Hyundai is trying to copy it. But out of all the designs, none comes close to looking as good as the CLS. Cant wait for the next generation model. I'll probly buy it.

You forgot about Toyota and Honda, the new pilot is disgusting, and the current generation camry never had a good angle. I whole-heartedly agree however, that BMW has the worst bunch of car designs.

Uhhh...no. As unnatractive as BMWs lineup is, I think it is physically impossible to top Acura. Whoever greenlighted the ZDX was high when they saw the design.

What a hideous monstrosity. Sometimes, different is not good; not when it's as revolting as that thing is. Can we get back one day to cars with normal proportions?

BMW explained what the car was, and their explanation makes a lot of sense given that they've announced an environmentally-responsible sports car concept for the show--and this vehicle is definitely not a sports car.

So, so terrible. Soooooooooo bad. Its too early on a Monday for me to even come up with some more sarcastic comment about how much I hate this vehicle. Thanks for trying, BMW. With every new vehicle I see from you, you move further and further down my 'dream cars' list.

Its not that bad. Sure it wont end up looking like this but i wouldnt count it out if it did. But the Artist did get it wrong. In the spy shots you can see that it is a coupe and not a 4 door, now thats not saying they dont have a 4 door in mind and that thats not where this artists drawing came from, but the photos show a coupe.

Coupes are not 4 door vehicles. Now we have 4 door hatchbacks being called SUVs. What's with this foolish naming game.

This car is really ugly, i miss the BMW of the 1990's.

I really think BMW is purposely putting out uglier and uglier cars in the last few years to prove that people just want to own a BMW for the cachet and not the looks.

thrizzle, that's an interesting idea.

Some people, some, value, handling/chassis dynamics, over appearance. While I think the current line-up of BMW cars is less than attractive I drive cars from the inside. So while my e90 335i may be as bland looking as a Buick Park Avenue there's nothing else sold right now that feels so good for the money (to me), while also meeting my needs (4 doors). :)

I don't think the entire BMW lineup is ugly...my 335 Coupe looks pretty damn good. People that said Bangle Ruined BMW, should start to think again. It looks like the Germans are watching Mecha Godzilla Movies...

blueguydotcom, my comment kinda goes with another theory I have re: BMW's. There are 2 kinds of BMW buyers, those that get the manual tranny and those that buy one with an automatic. In general, the enthusiasts (like you and me) who value BMW handling tend to buy a stick (I'm assuming here that you got the stick). The people who just want it for brand image opt for the automatic.

But over the years (around the time they dropped a torque converter in the E36 M3!), BMW has tried to increase sales and be more appealing to the bland mainstream by upping the auto tranny offerings, and I'm sure the sales figures show that this has worked and that the majority of its cars are sold with automatics now. Anyways, these drivers are all about the show and not the go, and want their right hand free to use their cell phone, apply makeup, eat food, etc.

I'm an MT owner and will always buy MT if given that option. I don't necessarily think that everybody that buys an AT or DSG is a poser or a douche. There is a technological advantage to Dual clutch, DSG or whatever its' currently called. It is faster. But there are some who want to feel more in control.

I'm sure there are purist, purist people who consider power steering, brakes, ABS and airbags "the devil" too.

The car is ugly and if it was available in MT I'd pass.

at least it looks less piggish - a little bit of dare I say, Mitsubishi, with the forward slanted tilt on the front.

Certainly more interesting than last the CS concept from last year.
