No, this is not an actual picture. But yes, you better believe that a open-top version of the 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia coupe is coming soon.

With the official debut of the coupe slated for next month's 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, figure the Italia Spyder will follow roughly 3-6 months later. The 2010 Geneva Auto Show in March is a good bet.

Like the coupe, the spider will use a 4.5-liter V8 that produces 570-horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. A 7-speed dual clutch transmission will handle the shifts. Not sure if it will retain the coupe's 202 mph top speed though.

Love this car as a coupe...not sure about this though. Proportions from the front seem off some (imho),I have to say that 60s dune buggy kit car comes to mind. Maybe it's the low sides in relation to the windshield header? I wouldn't throw it out of my garage but its look and appeal seem very different to me than the coupe.

Could this car possibly get any sexier?

That engine sounds like another potent screamer from Ferrari. FIVE HUNDRED and SEVENTY horsepower out of 4.5 naturally aspirated liters is simply insane! I'd look for a 8500-9200 rev limit.

The hot wheels design influence becomes even more apparent...

That's a great looking car! I just wish Ferrari did something about the opening in the front. It's too wide and reminds me of the FX with it's catfish style grille. Maybe if they continued with the yellow where the prancing horse is...
