Video: In-Car Look at Rhys Millen Attacking Pikes Peak

We told you all about Rhys Millen's record-breaking run up Pikes Peak a week or so ago. Now here's a look at what it takes to make such a run from the driver's seat. You'll notice how smoothly Rhys's hands move through the run, and you might also notice that you can't really see where you're going half the time. Two things to note:

1) The obvious potential of the Genesis Coupe chassis.

2) The skill it takes to not only know where the track switches between asphalt and dirt, but how to handle that transition as smoothly as possible.

Rhys Millen is definitely the king of the mountain.

I watched the whole video, concluding this sport is somewhat dangerous.

WOW.

dirt courses on Gran Turismo is fun partly because you are not jostled around like ice cubes in a blender. i can't imagine driving at that speed in a straight line if i bounced around so much.

i like how some hairpins have signs that say "10 mpg." i think he may have been going a TAD faster. amazing
