Jeez.... Pontiac had some of the greatest model names. Bonneville, LeMans, GTO, Firebird, Grand Prix, Formula, TransAm. Unbelievable how GM has squandered this legacy, but kept the boring and undistinguished Buick nameplate in the U.S. Should have kept Pontiac as a domestic brand and allowed Buick to be specific to the Asian markets. It's not like they will share product or marketing strategies anyway between US and China anyway!

TBH, the names "Bonneville" "Grand Prix" "Lemans" dont mean anything to me but out-of-touch pillow-soft land yachts. And I mean up until the mid 2000's too.

Buick also has a rich history, not just the land yachts that they became known for. There are several performance Buicks from the past that are well regarded. The problem is that GM over time, diluted many of its products' appeal and heritage in order to reduce costs, and thought they could make up for it by toothpaste marketing, putting people in charge of the divisions who had little knowledge and passion for the cars.
