The auction house Gooding & Company has announced that a 1935 Duesenberg SJ Roadster and 1927 Packard 343 Convertible Sedan will roll onto the auction block during the annual Pebble Beach Auction from August 15-16.
The regal 1935 Duesenberg is one of 36 SJs built in 1935, and was originally a gift passed on from Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton to Prince Serge M'Divani, a member of the Soviet Georgian Noble Family. It was later purchased by Deusenberg enthusiast Jerry Gebby, who once competed in the Pike's Hill Climb at the wheel of the classic SJ.
Gooding's 1927 Packard 343 Convertible Sedan, which was owned and restored by racing legend Phil Hill, will also show up at the Pebble beach Sunday auction. It's expected to be the only Murphy-bodied 343 that exists, and actually won the Best of Show trophy at the 1977 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
General admission to the viewing and auction will run for $40 per person, and the Sunday auction is set to commence at 6:00 p.m.
