The annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance has become more than just the world's most exclusive car show. Now it's a marketing opportunity, too. Manufacturers from across the world are now using the event like a late-summer car show complete with world debuts and elaborate press conferences.
Inside Line has now confirmed that the 2010 Infiniti M series sedan will be shown for the first time at an August 14 press conference. No additional details were given, but we assume it will be a finished production quality car, which means a possible on-sale date by the end of this year. We'll know more by this time next month.

Hopefully it stays classy and aggressive like the current model.

Aren't there supposed to be "leaked" and teaser images for 6 months before the release? This is highly unorthodox.

Hoping for a 5.0L V8 with 390hp and 7 speed automatic. A real sports sedan! YEAH!!!!!!!!

its too bad that nissan doesn't have some powerplant that makes close to 500HP that they could use to make a M5 competitor . . .

Sure they do...they could throw the GT-R engine in the M and be ready for AMG and BMW-M competitors!

I knew someone was going to reply with the GT-R comment as SOON as I saw the comment from 95prelude.
Unfortunately, that isn't feasible. Doing so would either skyrocket the price of the M (a car that does NOT need its price messed with) or devalue the proposition for the GT-R. I can not envision Nissan fiddling too heavy with either of those variables, at least not yet.
Plus the M needs a big burly V8 as stated above. It just fits the car's character.

I didn't know they still made these things. I can't remember the last time I saw one, and I live in LA!

Step 1: Get the V8 from the FX50S.
Step 2: Put it in the M.
Step 3: Install two turbos.
Step 4: ATTESA-ETS Pro: Install it, too.
Step 5: ???
Step 6: Profit! (Not really. But it would be AWESOME!)

Sweeeet I can't wait!
I hope they worked hard on the fuel economy and offer a diesel version.

The fuel economy is addressed by M37, which is going to be equipped with 3.7L V6 with DI with estimated 350 hp while 1 - 2mpg improvement. For the M50, I guess it will be the north of 400hp ( logical guess is 420hp ) since the 3.7 is pumping 350 hp and 70hp is logical for 1300cc in displacement difference.
Well, it is coming out with perfect timing for me. I cant wait to see it in person.

playdrv4me that's a very good point you made about that devalueing the GT-R but i still think nissan can come up with something to make a M5 competitor that produces nearly 500HP, b/c the industry standard for a midsize V8 luxury sedan is high 300HP. What i would love to see is the 5.0L in the standard car then a supercharger thrown on that would be branded under a new motorsports division that infiniti created to compete with AMG's, V-series, audi S-cars, BMW M-cars and Lexus F-cars. Also who wouldn't want to see that 5.0L V8 in a G sedan and coupe if they tweaked it to get a little more than 400HP

Why are people in this thread getting so excited over an also-ran?
