It's Official: 2010 Suzuki Kizashi Revealed

kiz-f34-950.jpg

After pictures of the 2010 Suzuki Kisashi leaked out early yesterday, the only thing left to discuss at today's official debut was the equipment under the skin.

Notable features on this new midsize sedan include standard all-wheel drive and a standard six-speed manual transmission to go along with the all-new four-cylinder engine. A continuously variable transmission will be optional and Suzuki also announced plans to release a hybrid version of the Kizashi.

In terms of size, the Kizashi is slightly smaller than a Hyundai Sonata. A wheelbase of 106.3 inches means the Kizashi is about 3 inches short of a Toyota Camry. The Suzuki is also slightly shorter in overall length, but nearly as wide as most of the sedans in the class.

Interior features will include a standard keyless ignition, Bluetooth connectivity and an optional 425 Rockford Fosgate audio system. Sales are expected to begin late this year.

Is it just me or does this thing have a "Nice but cheap" look to it? Kinda Daewoo-ish or Chinese or something.

so this is what it will look like when you combine a C300 and a Jetta...
I'm glad Suzuki didn't make the Kizashi anything like the concept or else I'd have to cross shop again.

No mention of a V6? That's odd, as I thought a 3.6 V6 was to be part of the plan.

The best design to come from Suzuki! Hopefully the engine has sufficient power (and fuel economy) to have proper sales in the U.S.

At first glance in the 2nd pic, I thought it was a Jetta... It has a very VW-like shape to the whole thing.

SEXY CAR SUZUKI!!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!

Wow, and most of the stuff i wanted, i got!

Standard 170hp I4 and optional 260hp I4T is good too! Expecially with standard AWD

looks fairly high end. copied the VW front and the gauge design. i like the BMW style integrated trunk spoiler. accord tail lights? still a nice ride... i'd like to hear more about the drivetrain.

Looks Good. I would totally buy this over an Accord, Camry, or Mazda6.

...standard AWD is nice, but I was hoping for a more inspiring motor. Perhaps later I guess.

rear end reminds me of a cross between a Nissan/Infiniti product and a Lexus product. front end reminds me of a VW. interior is so-so looking. those look like xenons up front, which i really like. how's the performance?

i personally like more compact cars. is Suzuki trying to become like Subaru, eventually developing into an AWD-only, inexpensive niche brand? Subaru sells like hotcakes here in New England.

Not quite as nice as the final concept (http://www.suzukiauto.com/about_suzuki/concepts/view_concept.php?m=concept_kizashi_3), but should add some competition in this sector depending on pricing and how aggressive their marketing is.

i think the best feature about this car is awd. we can only buy awd japanese sedan from subaru (or an evo).. and overall the car looks great and sounds promising.

There really is no excuse for the final product loosing so much of the sleekness and raw appeal that the concept had. Sadly this looks like not much more than a bigger SX4 sedan. And the interior looks downright CHEAP! Lastly, is there going to be a V6 option?

redgeminipa says:

The grown up SX4 Sport ... With better looking taillights. Looks nice until you get to the rear doors.

I can't believe roar02ram, zoomzoomn, saying this car look cheap. As least is not as cheap as Chrsyler, Dodge, and Jeep. Those interior !!! Oh, and exterior !! Are cheap. If they aren't then proof it at the NHTSA that they are reliable??

firstwagon says:

It looks fine ... just like the countless other 4 door sedans on the market these days.

tra2883 says:

I'm not crazy about the styling - there's too many seams, lines, and curves going on at the back end which makes it look a little busy and awkward. And the shape of the headlights and taillights looks as though they started with a sleek, taught design that sat out in the sun and started to melt and droop at the edges.

justinparrk says:

the steering wheel looks very BMW-y and the gauges look Lexus-y.

looks nice.

cz75 says:

C&D claims GM's 3.6L 280hp DI V-6 will be an option.

Concept version looked much better, but it still looks better than an Accord or Camry.

goodshot says:

the exterior styling is pretty appealing however dun u think the interior looks kinda cheap especially the plastics

actualsize says:

Don't you just love it when they put a longitudinal-looking engine cover on a car with a tranverse-mounted engine?
