Industrial design firm Mike and Maaike, the brains behind the Xbox and HTC G1 phone, have created a revolutionary vehicle concept equivalent to a living room on wheels. In an article titled "The End of Driving: Mike and Maaike introduce the Autonomobile," the duo suggests commute time would be better spent sleeping, working or getting hammered rather than your typical driving experience of focusing on the road and simply rocking out to some tunes.
Kind of like the Lexus in Minority Report, the Autonomobile navigates and drives itself, asking soon-to-be loungers "Where can I take you?" upon entering. It will be powered electrically with four in-wheel motors, a battery pack stored in the floor and a solar roof for an extra kick.
Although just a concept, it's hard to imagine a vehicle with glass windows and no suspension being safe (or comfortable, for that matter) to drive ride in.

I dunno. The idea has long been out there, and there's certainly demand for such a thing, but I'm not convinced there's a market for buyers. Additionally, I can't imagine how inefficient such a cab would be to air condition, much less move.
