Check out the refreshed 2010 Acura MDX. Although it retains the overall shape and look of the 2007-2009 model years, it does have a few aesthetic and mechanical changes that should be noted.
An aggressive new grille and different mirrors from Acura's newest parts bin are the most noticeable alterations, although the designers did also tweak the front and rear bumpers, hood, side sills and tail lamps.
The 3.7-liter V6 powerplant still has 300 horsepower, and torque drops from 275 to 270 pound-feet. A new six-speed Sequential SportShift tranny helps bump both mpg up one mpg to a 16/21 rating. New gearing supposedly gives the mid-size crossover more umph off the line.
The interior receives a thicker sport steering wheel with paddles, more LED lighting, a rearview camera and a VGA nav screen.
More pics of the refreshed and kind-of-purple MDX after the jump.

And I thought the MDX couldn't get much worse...

- I like the new fascias, front and rear although they could have left out the TL like air intakes.
- Although I'm not a fan of the grill it doesn't look nearly as garish and overstyled as the TL's beak.
- The addition of a few chrome bits were a nice and welcomed touch as prior MDX's seemed a bit too monotone.
- I still don't care for the cluttered center stack and the steering wheel design.
- The wood (fake or real?) is overkill.
- Finally a 6AT!
- Revised 3.7L V6 is welcomed. I wonder if it employs the RL/TLs version of the worlds first intake/exhaust VVT system using SOHC configuration?
- Is it still one of the top performing sport/luxury SUV's currently offered?

I hate this grille on the other Acura models (though I don't mind it so much on the TSX) but for some reason, I think it works on the MDX - or maybe it's just better than the grille they were using on it. Love the new wheel design though.

Looks almost like a Chevy, should of added the wood trim to the steering wheel, the steering wheel looks like it belongs on a different vehicle, and the individual guages are a real pain to clean to, need to put a piece over the whole set to make it easier to clean

Looks better than previous model. Wished they would have made the rear-quarter window larger, as the outward visibility is pretty poor.

Bob, I thought the same thing when I first saw it. But, I tried one (an 08) out yesterday, and thought visibility was not too bad. Not as good as my old Outback nor current Pilot, but nowhere near the problems I have with something like the Venza.

Wow, in less than two years Acura has managed to completely decimate their entire model line up with beaked grills, largely disproportionate rear ends and so-so performance gains.
Great...and this was a company I once liked. My first car was a 1998 Integra Type R.

The ugly buck tooth grille doesnt look as bad here as on the cars.

"when you do things right, people wont be sure youve done anything at all"

Honda should design its luxury brand at Japan like its competition. Look at what Lexus or Infiniti Japanese design divisions can accomplish.
