We highlighted this question last week after the Los Angeles Times printed a story about the ten most expensive state-owned vehicles driven by legislators in Sacramento. It was a sobering look at wasteful spending in a state on the verge of bankruptcy.

To the surprise of virtually no one around here, this sort of thing goes on all across the country and in Washington D.C. James Riswick took a closer look at the situation over on the Edmunds Daily blog and it's truly disturbing. Like the congressman from New York who drives a Lexus LS 460 or the California legislator who spent $25,000 fixing his $29,000 Mustang Mach 1. Prepare to be annoyed.
