Sure, some of the pictures leaked out yesterday, but now we have the full story on the 2010 Jaguar XJ. It made its official world debut in London today, an occasion that Jaguar hopes will heighten the awareness of its new flagship sedan.

As you might expect, it's made of aluminum like the current car and features Jaguar's new 5.0-liter V8 under the hood. Obviously, there's a completely new shape on the outside and some compelling design details in the cabin too. For a closer look at all the details, see our first hand impressions of the car at the link below.

WTF is jaguar doing? The XJ is a truly iconic shape and the replace it with this piece of crap?

This is a car Kia would design, not Jaguar. I hope Jag really wanted to shif the sales burgen to the XF, a handsome if somewhat bland shape, because they just killed the XJ.

Wow! That's quite a change—and for the better!

Do you really think so? Beyond its obvious connection to the XF and the leaping cat on wrong end of the car (is it me or does it seem like someone went to Pep Boys and bought a peel and stick jaguar to apply to their Toyota).

The XJ looks like half a dozen other cars now. Why would I pay extra money for this car over the XF, which (IMHO) is much better looking overall?

Even as BMW's morphed over the years, they retained some essential BMW-ness about their shape. The XR retains nothing of what made it instantly identifiable as a Jaguar.

Maybe the Indian owners think there is a benefit to a break with the unrealiable Jag's of the past, but I would (obviously) disagree.

I'm disappointed too. I really like the XF but they already have one so why build another slightly bigger one?

They should have found a way to keep the spirit of the original XJ styling while still making a more modern looking car.

It was time to update the XJ Series. The current design has been around for quite awhile. That said, I think it looks too similar to the XF. They could have done more to make the car more unique and sexy.

I like the design. Finally, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes have got a run for their money.

Why did Jag black out the C pillar? It looks totally out of place and does nothing to change the fact that the car looks a little bulky in the haunches. It actually takes away from the otherwise decent flow of the overall design.

I really like the look of the new xj. It's sporty and luxurious with some unique design features. And you wouldn't look out of place driving one if you were in your thirties.
