No official word on a release date for the full version of Gran Turismo 5 from 2009 E3, but here's the trailer Sony showed this morning.
Key things to note: WRC and NASCAR licenses. Plus, visible damage on a Subaru WRX STI rally car -- a first for a Gran Turismo game.
So, here's the question: Gran Turismo 5 or Forza Motorsport 3?

I see the Subaru with some damage -- I didn't know GT finally has car damage? That would be huge. I "Professional" setting the Prologue is quite fun and more challenging (and realistic) to drive compared to anything else on the market. I think PGR is fun but way too easy (more arcade than simulator anyway).
I will never admit to liking Forza. I am glad my 360 broke, otherwise that statement would be a problem. My PS2 still runs flawlessly, and my PS3 took a beating (fell on the floor, long story) and still works perfectly. So just for that I will remain a die-hard Gran Turismo fan.
Why the heck is it taking them so long to come out?!?!?!

Now i cant wait for it to come out! I havent bought a PS3 yet cause i wanted to wait till this full version came out! Man it all looks great and now they cover the majority of the racing word! Watch out NASCAR gamers you just might be buying GT5! Now i just need a date of release! Already got the new logitech wheel for it!

Guy at Gamestop told me the rumor is 2011. Other people have heard the same thing.
Even if it's 2010, that's too late. The measley Prologue has been out for, what, two years now? Friends of mine have given up waiting and bought the xBox for Forza.
I'll wait, because only I already bought a PS3 thinking it'd be out by now (and for the Blu-Ray DVD player). But I'm really unhappy about how it has unfolded.
These guys need to get off the pot. It's inexcusable that they didn't announce a date at E3. Trailers without a release date are just stalling for time. And I think they'll get more defectors because of it. I might become one of them.
And if I hear that the NASCAR deal was the reason for the delay, I WILL trash the thing and go Xbox/Forza, post haste.
